I realized last week that it was hotter on the east coast than it is here, which seems deeply wrong to me. I suspect it seems deeply wrong to everyone who has to sweat it out as well, so you have all of my sympathies. As a result, I thought this week we’d spend some time covering elegant robes that will help you sit out a heat wave in style. The robes on this list range from affordable to splurgy and are admittedly on the girlier side of things. They’re also all from solid designers and will last you for years if you wash them the right way, which I think is important when you’re buying something as basic as a nice robe.
1. LIVIA blue silk robe by La Lilouche
This is the second incarnation of this robe (I own the black version) and this color is absolutely perfect for summer. While this is technically from the La Lilouche bridal collection, I think non-brides can work this silvery blue shade as well. The silk in this robe is thick and holds up well, which makes it a great long term purchase.
2. Floral Bed Jacket by Ayten Gasson
I know a bed jacket isn’t technically a robe, but they serve a similar function and I seriously can’t get enough of these bed jackets. They’re light, entirely made in the UK, come in beautiful patterns and work just as well over jeans as they do over underwear. The shorter length is also supremely flattering on tons of different body types.
3. Tropic Short Night Robe by Beautiful Bottoms
This robe is on sale right now, which makes it a great way to pick up a designer piece at a discount. I’m not a huge fan of bold tropical or tiki prints, but the soft pastels in this print make it work for me. The sheer silk is perfect for incredibly hot weather.
4. Sheer Frou Frou Dressing Robe by Dottie’s Delights
This robe is throughly vintage and wonderfully dramatic. It’s also sheer and light, which means that it’s perfect for channeling your inner Rita Hayworth no matter what temperature it is outside. This robe comes in two different cuts – the second is perfect for full bust and plus size women who need some extra room in the shoulder and sleeve area.
5. 5 O´Clock at Rajasthan Palace Robe by Plum Pretty Sugar
This robe is a gorgeous basic that looks way fancier than it’s price tag. It’s made out of a light cotton and easily washable, which makes it practical and pretty.
6. Lullaby Kimono Robe by Priscilla Jade
If you’re not a fan of pink, this robe is a great elegant and feminine alternative. I love the sheer stripes on this robe and the knockout color.
Which robe is your favorite? Are there any summer robes that you love that didn’t make the list?
